Hello FB friends. Stuck sitting at the computer today? Want to find a little antidote to despair? Here's today's Action Alert! #nobakken #nodapl Action alert: please go to the following Facebook page- https://www.facebook.com/USACEHQ/ Notice the complaining editorial from the MAIN Coalition Director Wiederstein. "Wiederstein echoed the letter to President Obama in his writing over the weekend, noting that “it now appears that a seemingly straightforward engineering and environmental impact decision has been delayed by special interests in politics,” adding that, “Environmental groups opposed to all forms of energy and infrastructure projects have urged members of the federal government to call into question previous engineering and environmental decisions made by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.” I don't know about you, but I don't consider myself to be a special interest delaying a legitimate public benefit project for no good reason. The good folks at the Department of the Interior or the Environmental Protection Agency aren't special interests either and they have strong feelings about the way this project is going. The following news article speaks of those concerns and others. Let's tell the ACE how the public feels. Paste this link and text in the visitor comments: http://indigenousrising.org/release-nodapl-1/ I demand a second public comment period on the Dakota Access (Bakken) Pipeline to be opened with a public meeting at the Omaha District Army Corps of Engineers officers with Colonel Henderson. I demand that reasons for the discounting of every public comment that is made be published and easily accessible to all. The American public deserves to know why OUR public agencies continue to side with private industry over public trust.
