NO WHEELIES PLEASE - MERTON

The Issue

SAVE OUR WEEKLY COLLECTION IN MERTON AND SAY NO TO WHEELIE BINS PLEASE

Merton Council proposes to reduce the frequency of dustbin waste and recycling collections to fortnightly & replace our dustbins with, wheelies. They're intending to introduce a second wheelie per household for paper/card, but leave us with open topped boxes for plastics, cans etc.

Merton residents propose that weekly dustbin waste collections are maintained; and that two 80 litre, lidded, recycling bins be supplied, enough to contain two weeks worth of separated recycling; both brown, to match the food waste bin. These will be cheaper, more practical, and far less obtrusive, than wheelie bins or open topped boxes.
