The Whidbey Environmental Action Network (WEAN) thanks all of our Change.org petition signers and to those that have contributed to the GoFundMe fundraiser! And we appreciate that you are sharing the petition out to your friends, families and acquaintances in your communities. Please continue to do so as it is a valuable thing that you can do to actively oppose the Navy's proposal.

And we strongly encourage you to continue to send emails to commission@parks.wa.gov opposing the proposal.

The Navy has applied to conduct covert military training in 29 state parks – most of the coastal state parks in Washington. For the reasons discussed in this comprehensive white paper (posted to our Facebook group), the State parks and Recreation Commission should deny the Navy's permit application.

Due to coronavirus concerns, the WA State Parks and Recreation Commission has cancelled its regular meeting scheduled for March 12th in Chelan. The next regular meeting is scheduled for May 6th & 7th in Pt. Townsend. A draft agenda calls for a public hearing on May 6th so please make your plans to be there. We need strong audience support as we make our case opposing the Navy proposal.

Finally, modest donations to our GoFundMe go a long ways in supporting the WEAN team. They are so important.
