Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission just declined to extend the current permit to the US Navy while they are considering the new permit application. Which means that as of May 1st, the U.S. Navy is no longer allowed to do SEAL Team Combat Training in Washington State Parks! It is absolutely abundantly clear that this result is because of everyone who signed this petition; everyone who sent a heartfelt letter to Parks; everyone who contributed to the GoFundMe campaign; everyone who shared this petition far and wide so that we could collectively express a public longing for peaceful, quiet Washington State Parks free from military training. Bravo, bravo to all of you. And now it is time to say thank you. Because it is just the right thing to do when policy makers to whom we entrust the WA State parks make the right decision.
