No to the housing development on Tirycoed

No to the housing development on Tirycoed
The Issue
We the undersigned,
Object to the 4th Planning Application and the Revised Development plan, by the developer to gain approval to develop this site, under the current circumstances.
Asbri Planning have placed notices on telegraph poles along Tirycoed Road in the last few days. They have given notice that they are preparing a 4th planning application for building 25 houses on and around the Old Hospital Site.
Objections to the previous applications were on the grounds of traffic and environmental issues. As a result of past “consultation” Asbri planning at best have only tweaked the plans favouring the applicant. Traffic remains a major issue which is not adequately mitigated in the plans and the issues of protected habitat have been marginalised or destroyed by the owners. Trees have been felled, hedges grubbed up and rhos pasture mowed (it should have been lightly grazed)
There are very good reasons for retaining the site as a community conservation space as it embraces, amongst other things, the most important breeding ground for the Marsh Fritillary Butterfly in the Amman Valley.
In addition to Planning Application 4 there are plans afoot to include the site in the Revised Local Development plan, even though the local council are against it.
The consultation period is until 28th October so we need to respond quickly.
Thank you / Diolch
