Hello Supporters,

The City of Albuquerque City Council will vote on legislation (Nov. 21) that will force any Safe Outdoor Space applicant to have an Operators License. This will have requirements such as a criminal background check, financial check, and other qualifications, before they could be approved to receive funds for the space. The space is still up for review.

We had a protest over a week ago and we realized many people still do not know what is happening in our neighborhood. In fact, the city wants 2 Safe Outdoor Spaces per district. Currently we want to start a project to mail out postcards to over 2,000 residents in our area to let them know about this Safe Outdoor Space. Through our website, westmesanews.com, we are updating, and telling people how to fight this, and who to contact in the city. This project will cost money ($606.48), and we are raising funds. There is a paypal page: Paypal giving West Mesa News / JuliaHFong

Any donations to change.org do not go to us. So that is why we set up the paypal.

Thanks to all of you.

Julia and Ed Fong
