The University of Brighton has proposed plans to make at least 100 academic staff redundant with approximately 400 members of staff at risk of redundancy. Such measures will do irreparable damage to the quality of education the students of this university will receive. This cost cutting measure by the  administration seeks to make up for the decrease in students applying for courses but will only make this situation worse.

As many courses rely upon the expertise each lecturer has on specific sectors of the field, applicants will be left without the specialised teaching they desire, therefore, affecting enrolment numbers. Without the combined expertise of all these lecturers it will simply be impossible for the university to maintain and deliver it's high quality teaching.

Voluntary redundancies will be open until 22nd May and all redundancies will be finalised by 20th June, So act now to have your voice heard.
