Following the electrifying anticipation after the Apple Cup, hopes for the Washington State University (WSU) football team were sky-high. However, the recent embarrassing defeat has left many of us, devoted fans and passionate supporters, deeply disheartened and questioning the team's current trajectory. We cannot let this stand!

Let's face it: watching our team get blown out in such a spectacularly poor fashion is hard to swallow. Our players must find the motivation to lock in and perform at their best. It is not just about wins and losses; it’s about pride, reputation, and the strength of our community spirit.

The solution is simple yet profoundly effective: until our team proves their commitment and capabilities on the field, a social campaign of withholding off-field rewards can be implemented. Although unconventional, this method may drive home the message: focus and commitment are paramount.

The community, known for its undying support, can initiate a conversation with team managers, coaches, and support staff to ensure that players have every resource they need—both psychological and physical—such as enhanced training facilities, mental coaching, and game strategy sessions. Support systems can be put in place to ensure player success both on and off the field.

By coming together, we can urge the WSU athletic department to commit to heightened standards of performance. This is a call to the powers that be to install stricter accountability measures, develop robust training programs, and foster an environment where each player understands that their contributions matter—both to themselves and to every cheering fan.

Join me in this call for change. Demand that our WSU football team rises to meet the standards we know they can achieve. Let's unlock the full potential of our beloved Cougars!
