• Commissioner Riley commissioned a study to examine possible AT-GRADE options at RF/GM. (See article:  Community Impact: Intersection needs at Research Forest Drive, Grogan's Mill Road revisited after 3-year hiatus)
• Recall the PUBLIC discussion brought forward by Chairman Gordy Bunch at TWT Meeting:  October 21, 2021 Township Meeting (Item 9)  

These AT-GRADE options easily address turning movements.

• Even according to Level of Service data within the Strand Associates' study commissioned by Precinct 3 (Noack), turning movements appear to the issue -- not through traffic.
• A somber reminder of the Diverging Diamond Interchange (recommended in the Strand proposal):  Diverging Diamond Interchange (Illinois DOT)

Keep in mind that Precinct 3 controls the south side of Research Forest at this intersection, and Precinct 3 is proposing the massive DDI.  Therefore, a cooperative effort between Precinct 2 and Precinct 3 would need to be reached to facilitate AT-GRADE upgrades.  The WRUD will most likely be asked to fund part or all of this project.  A proposal does not equal a finished project.
