I understand some people have hesitations about vaccines—side effects, mandates, long-term questions—and I respect that. People should be able to ask questions without being dismissed. This isn’t about politics or forcing anything on anyone.
This is about solving a real, growing global public-health problem with the most effective long-term tool we can advocate for.
Here’s the practical reality: scabies mites can adapt (just like fleas, ticks, lice, and bed bugs can). When we rely on the same small set of treatments over and over, we create pressure that can make the parasite harder to kill over time—basically, we can end up selecting for the toughest mites. We’re already seeing more reports of reduced responsiveness and suspected resistance in some cases to frontline options like permethrin and ivermectin. If “treatment-only” is the strategy, people can get trapped in cycles of symptoms, reinfestation anxiety, isolation, and repeated medication.
A vaccine is different because it’s prevention. Prevention means fewer infections, less spread in homes/schools/workplaces/healthcare settings, fewer repeat treatments, and less pressure driving resistance. It’s the most efficient path to fewer cases, fewer long-term battles, and less suffering—while giving people more options, not fewer.
Most importantly: thank you. Reaching 1,000 signatures is huge. I genuinely appreciate everyone who signed, shared, commented, and supported—especially those who don’t usually engage with petitions but recognized this matters.
But we can’t stop now. This milestone proves people care—and it’s exactly why we need to push harder. Please keep sharing and signing so this reaches the organizations and funders who can move vaccine and treatment research forward.
Next goal: 2,500 signatures.
If you’ve already signed, please share it with 2 people.
1,000 is the start. Let’s keep going.
My wife and I are still suffering and working with medical specialists and infectious disease experts until we’re cured. And as we navigate this, I’m going to keep doing everything I can to bring awareness—because so many people are suffering alongside us, and this can happen to anyone.
Thank you for your support.
