No more warehouses in Hemet, CA

No more warehouses in Hemet, CA
The Issue
Living in Hemet, California, I have witnessed a concerning rise in air pollution due to the ongoing development of warehouses. Every day, numerous trucks rumble through our streets, contributing to an alarming decrease in our air quality. These massive warehouses attract fleets of trucks that release diesel exhaust and other harmful pollutants into our air. Unfortunately, these emissions are linked to serious health problems, including respiratory illnesses, heart disease, and even cancer.
Our community deserves better. Many residents, including myself and our children, are experiencing the daily impact of deteriorating air quality. We are seeing higher rates of asthma and other respiratory conditions, and it's only a matter of time before the situation worsens. The additional noise pollution is also affecting our daily lives, disrupting the peace that once characterized our neighborhoods.
Despite these serious concerns, the push for more warehouse developments in Hemet continues. I cannot help but fear what our community will look like in ten years if we remain on this path. It's not just about preserving the visual landscape of Hemet; it's about safeguarding the health and well-being of its residents.
We must urge our local government to impose stricter zoning regulations and consider sustainable development practices that do not compromise our air quality. There are alternative locations for these warehouses that are less impactful to residential areas, and it’s critical to make these adjustments now before it's too late.
By signing this petition, you are joining me in demanding that our local leaders prioritize the health of our Hemet community over short-term economic gains. Our future generations depend on our ability to protect and preserve the environment and the integrity of our town. Please stand with us and take action to ensure Hemet remains a safe and healthy place to live. Sign this petition today and help us put a halt to unnecessary warehouse expansion in our community.
