I was an average student at the Iowa City West High School but one fateful day, my life was flipped upside-down, and not for the better. The school implemented a new system, getting rid of the old and effective pass system of writing down the pass on paper and replacing it with this clunky, almost unusable app called “Securly Pass”. You may be wondering, “what is so bad about it?” Well, you need a school Chromebook or phone with the app to get a pass which is restrictive for some students. It also needs verification from some teachers who frankly, don’t want to use the app, and I can’t blame them! This app is SO BAD that not even most teachers like it over the old system! This is yet another sign that the education system is failing us and needs to change NOW!

People that should consider signing:

• West High Students or Staff
• Any former West High alumni
• People that have had negative experience with “Securly Pass” in the past

Together, we can solve this problem that should never of happened in the first place and go back to the way it was before. Go Trojans!
