For years, people in a small town in the Philippines have been promised flood control projects. Each election season, politicians announce new dikes, drainage systems, or river cleanups. But after the ribbon-cuttings and photo opportunities, the projects either remain unfinished or collapse after the first heavy rain. Funds vanish, and the community is left with nothing but broken promises.

When the typhoons come, the rivers overflow and families wade through waist-deep water inside their homes. Children miss school, parents lose workdays, and sickness spreads quickly in evacuation centers. Many feel betrayed—because the money for real solutions was there, but corruption swallowed it.

This is why we say “No More Fake Projects.” We demand honest, transparent, and lasting flood control measures that truly protect Filipino communities. We are not asking for luxury, we are asking for safety, dignity, and a future where our children don’t grow up fearing the floods.
