Petition updateNo More Delays — Approve the Lower Woodland Field Expansion & Track ProposalSeattle Board of Parks & Recreation Commissioners

Mar 4, 2026
Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) agrees about the need for increased access to outdoor recreation and organized sporting facilities for all youth in our community.
Seattle Public Schools (SPS) is currently undergoing a public engagement process for this project proposal that meets SPR’s standards. To date, SPS has led one site-specific public meeting related to Lower Woodland.
They will hold a second meeting where they plan to present a more advanced design in response to public comment and input received thus far.
Once complete, SPR leadership will review a summary of this public-engagement process as well as the advanced design and then decide how to proceed.
Listening to public feedback is important and integral to our process so that we can be intentional and thoughtful about how this project, and other proposed and current projects, can best serve and address the needs of the variety of vibrant communities we serve.
Information about SPS’s second upcoming public meeting will be shared by SPS and also posted on our SPR social media channels, and we encourage all community members to attend and participate.
