NO MAST IN OUR PAST - Framfield Memorial Recreation Ground MAST Oposition Group

These trees were planted as a living memory to those who lost their lives. The proposed site is very close to an historical Ash tree, planted in 1923 as a living memory to soldier William Harland who lost his life in WW1 - part of the plans are to reduce this tree considerably! not only that but the excavation, trenching and concrete foundation will without doubt have an impact on tree roots of this and other trees and hedgerows. The great uncle of ex chancellor George Osborne, Derrick Osborne is also remembered in the memorial ground as he was a Framfield resident. We NEED to preserve and protect this beautiful ground for future generations to enjoy and to remember those who lost their lives protecting our country.
