No LTN road closures in Bush Hill Park

The Issue

Labour want to impose an LTN road closure in Bush Hill Park. And have been pushing for the past five years.

First (and still claiming) that an LTN is wanted on Halstead Road. This would push traffic and congestion onto many surrounding roads like Firs Park Avenue and Firs Lane.

Second, this month (September) Labour is incredibly claiming that residents on Park Avenue also want one!!! We have spoken to a large number of  residents on Park Avenue who have resoundingly said no.

This is in addition to Labour also claiming that residents on Trinity Avenue want one. The Labour local roads Cabinet Member also is on record said, “people have commented about a solution to the cut through traffic from London Rd to the A10”.

This would cause traffic chaos, longer journeys and push traffic onto surrounding roads - through shutting off Park Avenue and Trinity Avenue to non resident cars.

It would mean that for instance a resident on Queen Anne’s Place being reduced from six route options to only being able to leave via Lincoln Road or the Northern part of Village road.

Only the Conservatives can win the Council next year - and scrap all current LTNs and block any future ones.
