No Layoffs, No Shift Closures: UPS Teamsters Fight Back!

No Layoffs, No Shift Closures: UPS Teamsters Fight Back!
The Issue
UPS continues to cry poverty but they made billions in profit during the last peak season. Volume is returning—but UPS wants to cut union jobs and move volume to automated facilities. Robots are cheaper than humans. They don’t require healthcare, raises or pensions. Sign this petition to demand UPS stop the layoffs. No job is safe. The petition is just the first step. It’s time to fight back!
UPS Teamsters are in a fight for our lives. The mass layoffs are here; as package volume is diverted to automated hubs and hubs become automated thousands of union jobs will disappear.
We demand UPS immediately halt these heartless layoffs and guarantee the protection of all shifts nationwide from closures. This isn't just about jobs; it's about our fight for survival.
Sign this petition to unite as UPS Teamsters against these layoffs and force UPS to prioritize our lives over their excessive profit margins.

The Independent Teamsters Organizing Committee (ITOC) was formed in direct response to the 2024 mass layoffs of UPS Teamsters, driven by AI/automation and corporate greed, and permitted by Teamster leaders.
Our mission is to empower the working class by resisting exploitation, asserting control over the means of production, and establishing a new economic system where technology serves workers. Right now, no UPS Teamster job is safe, and millions of other jobs are on verge of being wiped out from the coming AI/automation revolution.
Focused on practical solutions, ITOC advocates for collective decision-making on workplace technology, opposes AI/automation-induced layoffs, and demands alternatives prioritizing job retention. We are organizing to keep our healthcare, paychecks and pensions by building solidarity with other logistics/shipping workers, warehouse workers, tech workers and the entire working class. We are organizing massive national union action now because it is necessary.
Internationally, we stand in solidarity with all workers, acknowledging the struggle against capitalist exploitation is universal.
Join us.
*We're well aware of the constraints imposed by both anti-union laws and the decisions made by Teamster leadership. Our stance is clear: we advocate for the eradication of all No Strike Clauses within union contracts. Layoffs essentially function as a form of 'locking out' a significant portion of the workforce, underscoring the necessity for unions to retain the right to strike in response. Currently, we're actively strategizing our next steps in light of the detrimental 2023-2028 UPS Contract. For an in-depth exploration of the drawbacks of No Strike clauses https://firewithfire.blog/2023/09/03/never-give-up-the-right-to-strike-an-introduction-to-no-strike-clauses/
