NO high density public/community housing in Wattle St Lyneham!
The issue
As a Wattle Street resident, I value the peaceful, green and welcoming character of Lyneham. It's what makes this neighbourhood such a great place to live. However, the ACT Government's proposed Draft Plan Amendment 17 (DPA-17), allowing up to 27 dwellings in buildings of three storeys plus undercroft parking, raises serious concerns for our local community.
Our homes overlook the proposed site, and I'm particularly concerned about the potential loss of privacy, natural light and outlook. Other residents along Wattle Street and Goodwin Street may also face increased traffic, parking pressures and construction disruption. The development could also affect the green spaces and neighbourhood character that many of us value.
We believe developments should be appropriate for their location and take the needs of existing residents into account.
Have Your Say: Object to DPA-17
In addition to signing this petition, residents are encouraged to submit a formal written objection to the ACT Government regarding Draft Plan Amendment 17 (DPA-17).
You can raise concerns about the proposed building height and density, loss of privacy, increased traffic and parking pressures, and impacts on Lyneham's neighbourhood character and green spaces.
