NO FITNESS COURT AT PIER PARK

NO FITNESS COURT AT PIER PARK
The Issue
JUST SAY NO to the proposal by City Council to construct a Fitness Court at Fairhope's Municipal Pier Park by signing this petition.
Now that the City owns the old restaurant (directly across from the Rose Garden and Fountain) the council has decided to demolish it and construct this Fitness Court (see photo) in its place though placement of this court has already been approved to be located at Stimpson Field (Mershon & Morphy Streets). Stimpson Field already houses tennis and pickle ball courts, a walking trail, green space and wooden fitness equipment in need of refurbishing. This exact Fitness Court can be seen at Daphne's Al Trione Sports Complex on Whispering Pine Road. Though the blue court is 32 ft x 32 ft, it utilizes a 50 ft x 60 ft fenced area. Fairhope has several sports areas around our city that are much more fitting to house this Fitness Court.
Sign this petition to have the Pier, Rose Garden, fountain, North Beach and South Beach area remain as it is - a PARK; a calm and peaceful green space where a multitude of people go to enjoy the daily sunset show.
