The Justice for Soli Prison Tour for Mental Health Justice continues on Saturday July 18 at 2pm at the Toronto South Detention Centre in Toronto, Ontario.
Join us as we line the road at the Toronto South Detention Centre in support of individuals suffering from Mental Health Issues within the Justice System.
We will demand Justice for the tragic death of Soleiman Faqiri who was violently beaten to death by more than a dozen guards at the Central East Correctional Centre (CECC) as both his legs and hands were tied.
We will demand Justice for the tragic death of Shawn Spaulding, who lost his life after only 72 hours at Maplehurst Correctional Complex.
We will demand justice for the tragic deaths of Jordan Sheard - who lost his life due to neglect during an overdose at CECC.
We will demand justice for all individuals suffering from mental health issues within the Justice System.
We remember particularly the victims of the Justice System who had mental health issues and died as a result of the Systemic failures.
JOIN US at 2 PM for rally and cacophony of horn-honking to send love to those behind bars.

Why are we rallying?
Because individuals suffering from Mental Health Issues from across our society are losing their lives at the hands of the Justice System.
Because people suffering from mental health challenges need social support, holistic healing, and medical care - not guards, aggression and incarceration and not be given to their families in body bags.
Because PRISONS ARE BECOMING THE NEW HOSPITALS FOR INDIVIDUALS SUFFERING MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES.
Because prisons are overcrowded, physical distancing is impossible, adequate PPE and sanitation materials are not provided, prisoners are increasingly on lock-down and
in segregation, and the risks to prisoners during COVID-19 are numerous and severe especially for those suffering from Mental Health Issues.
Because the province is looking to invest $500 million in guard salaries and prison infrastructure, rather than investing that in Community Mental Health Supports.
Because we MUST do better as a society for our most Vulnerable.
Jails and prisons do not keep our most vulnerable suffering from Mental Health Issues safe, and we will continue to demand justice and care for each of them.
