NO Data Centers in Dent County -Keep the Current River clean!

NO Data Centers in Dent County -Keep the Current River clean!
The Issue
We, the Residents, Farmers, and allies of Dent County, vehemently oppose any and all data centers in our town and county.
We recognize that Dent County is a place full of amazing Nature, the beautiful Current River, Farmland that has been worked for generations, and a Home to all of us.
We know that this is more valuable than any falsely promised economic benefit or profit from data center developers that have nothing to do with our way of life.
As data centers are spreading faster than wildfire, more and more reports are coming out about the irreversible harmful effects, regardless of whether the systems being used are closed loop or evaporative.
The current river means so much to all of us, many of us learned to swim there, we gather there with family, catch fish there for an evening meal, and even more people from across the state come to float and enjoy the clean and beautiful waters.
Not only does the river provide us with clean water, but it powers water aquifers for the entire state, and we cannot let the water become polluted.
We believe that We the People are entitled to our clean water, not the data centers.
We do not need any facilities that will harm and poison our wildlife and natural resources, and cause possible increases in cancer, asthma, and miscarriage rates.
We do not need noise pollution, OR psychological/ neurological side effects from low-grade humming facilities.
We do not need a billion-dollar company coming in and causing our electric and water bills to be raised.
We do not need air, light, or water pollution, depleted water pressure, or raised temperatures.
We must protect the land and the river that protects and provides for us, and therefore We reject any and all data center proposals.
What we do need and what we demand are the following:
For the County Commissioners, the Mayor of Salem, and the Salem Board of Aldermen, to effectively ban any and all data centers from the city and county entirely, and permanently.
For protections to be put in place to ensure no harmful technological or industrial companies can disrupt our water and way of life in the future.
For our local officials to stand firmly in line with the general consensus of the people who live, tend to the land, and pay taxes here, to keep our way of life, our water, all natural resources, and our future generations healthy and cared for.
Please sign and share to protect our River, our Land, and our Community.
**The undersigned are all people who live in Dent County, were born and raised in Dent County, have family in Dent County, or spend time in Dent County and on the River.
