Thank you to everyone who showed up to the Trustee meeting -- I am so proud of our community! Our local government has heard us, and thanks to some brilliant locals, our commissioners will soon adopt protective measures for the land within their jurisdiction.

Unfortunately, the current data center decision lies mostly with the prospective property owners, Harold & Dewey Laughlin. The family, who also owns Laughlin  Music & Vending​, Bobcat Parking, and nearly 50 Athens County properties,  has been seeking development from businesses such as Saadia Holding LLC., who wants to build a data center near Athens High School and along the Hocking River. If you have a professional or personal relationship with the Laughlins, please respectfully encourage them to hear the community and say "no" to data centers. While current laws allow the Laughlins to make this enormous decision for our community, we believe they can and should seek development that brings pride and sustainability to the county that has supported their family since 1946.
