We the undersigned, strongly object to the proposed merger between Notting Hill Housing Group and Genesis Housing Association. It is no secret that there has been a disconnect between local communities and corporate interests in social housing. Poignantly this is evidenced by the Grenfell Tower catastrophe.

The merging of two large housing associations Notting Hill Housing Group and Genesis Housing ‐ makes for even less personal attention to the rights and needs of the tenant. This assists only the main goal of all housing corporations: Maximising Profit Through Gentrification At Any Cost. Yet, there should be a primary duty of care and obligation to provide what is in the best interest of the dweller. We do not believe that this merger is in tenants best interests and therefore ask both Housing Associations to:

• Stop the merger 
• Reconnect with tenants 
• Provide real representation for tenants
• Provide social housing for those desperately in need
