Hello fellow members of the West Carroll #314 School District.  I'd like to preface this petition by kindly asking any and all who read this to comment and react in a PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL manner.  Tempers, profanity, and negativity will not help our cause.

We have ALL been impacted in some way regarding the way certain situations have been or are being handled in our school district in recent years and in the present day.  It is time for our voices and concerns to be heard.

According to a KWQC TV 6 news article, (https://www.kwqc.com/2023/03/23/west-carroll-school-district-parents-upset-claimed-teachers-walked-out-high-school "The West Carroll Education Association (WCEA) took a vote of no confidence in Superintendent Katzenberger nearly two weeks ago. That vote passed with an overwhelming majority." 

What this means is that the union feels Superintendent Katzenberger isn't capable of leadership.  The news article goes on to say that the board feels this way for these cited reasons:

• "Superintendent Katzenberger not keeping parents in the loop about student issues.
• Superintendent Katzenberger regularly rejecting input from staff members when it comes to addressing students and school issues.
• Loss of professional staff, support staff, and building administrators due to micromanaging and constant conflict with Superintendent Katzenberger, which shows the district is struggling to attract and retain top-quality educators for our students.
• Teachers fearing retaliation from Superintendent Katzenberger for bringing up concerns at board meetings or to board members."

I feel that it is time for everyone's voices to be heard.  The time to act is now!  Eventually the board will HAVE to discuss this matter.  If you feel that the WCEA is justified in their vote of no confidence for the above cited reasons, I urge you to please sign this petition prior to 3/28/23.  At that time I will turn it over to whatever resources I feel may accept this!  This is a peaceful way to show our support to our teachers and to our students.
