Hello!
The public meeting was held March 28th at 5pm and it was poorly attended. The open house design of the meeting made it hard to effectively and efficiently inform the attendees or for questions to be answered, heard and discussed/debated with the Telus representatives.
There are still things that we CAN DO! Please please please send your comments to the following people to engage our community leaders and decision makers in this very large and important decision:
Kristina Bell - Cypress Land Services (contracted by TELUS) kristina@cypresslandservices.com
Ben Kent - RDOS planner who consolidates the comments and provides his recommendation to the board at a future RDOS board meeting (I need to get this date). Often times, the board votes in favor of the staff recommendation so it is important to contact Ben Kent with your concerns. bkent@rdos.bc.ca
All RDOS board members - (see RDOS website) most importantly our area director Matt Taylor who is the voice for our town. mtaylor@rdos.bc.ca
Other helpful stakeholders to reach out to include:
MP Richard Cannings - richard.cannings@parl.gc.ca
Okanagan First Nation Alliance - see website for phone contact
SD53 - Sholeh Pickles School Trustee, Karen Sinclair Ok Falls Elementary School Principal , Bev Young Superintendant of Schools, Helen Gallagher First Nationals Contact Teacher , Marcus Toneatto Assistant Superintendent. (emails at bottom of page)
I will post another comment once I know the date and time of the meeting where the final decision will be heard by the board and voted on. I believe this will be a time where public comment can be taken as well.
