Thanks for your continued support; fire risk at Canyon Hills

Thanks to everyone who has continued to sign this petition. I appreciate your support for the idea of maintaining Canyon Hills in its "open space" status rather than turning it into a resource-based park. One of the worries Woodcrest Hills' residents have is increased fire risk. Several times a year since the Water Authority installed picnic tables on top of Canyon Hills in 2011, Woodcrest Hills residents have found makeshift fire pits constructed next to the picnic tables. Many residents of Woodcrest Hills are concerned that if traffic to this area increases drastically, the risk for fire will likewise increase drastically. We encourage the City of San Diego and Mira Mesa Recreation Council to take this issue seriously when making their decision about what to do with this piece of land. I also encourage everyone to attend the Mira Mesa Recreation Council meeting on September 13, 2016 at Lopez Ridge Recreation Center from 7:00pm-8:30pm to voice their opinions about this issue in person. Again, thanks for the continued support!
