Petition on behalf of the residents of Taos County, New Mexico:

We the undersigned urge you to expedite an investigation of the Humane Society of Taos dba Stray Hearts Animal Shelter on the following issues:  The breaking of their contract for service with the Taos County Sheriffs Office; the resignation of ED Liam Hughes at the request of the board – then his subsequent reinstatement; formal complaints filed against Hughes for sexual misconduct, resulting in the victim being forced to resign; a recent revolving door of board members added then removed; a lack of transparency to the public about current issues, finances and activities at the shelter and other potential wrongdoings by the Board of Directors and Hughes.  We would appreciate your urgent attention.
