NF Power has an application before the PUB that, if approved, will see their maximum return on investment for their shareholders go from the current 8.5% to 9.8%, and will result in higher electricity rates for consumers. This is totally unacceptable at a time when consumers are on pins and needles wondering if our provincial government will be able to reach a deal with Ottawa on rate mitigation.  This also comes at a time when our province is in a fiscal crisis and measures to address the serious matters at hand will likely result in a higher cost of living to the average citizen.  We the people of NL are therefore DEMANDING that NF Power immediately withdraw their application to the PUB.  Should they fail to do so, we are requesting that the PUB turn down this ill timed, totally insensitive application by NF Power.
