NKU rescind offer of admission to Faith Price after harmful racist comments

Recently, an incoming freshman student, Faith Price, made a post with the caption, #whitelivesmattermore. She is due to major in elementary education at NKU, and despite being aware of this, NKU has done nothing but offer a slap on the wrist in the form of “reminding her of our  core values.”

They claim to pride themselves on diversity, and yet are refusing to take the steps to keep their BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) students safe from racists on campus. “Diversity in thought” must not include any student, staff or faculty with views that actively harm other students, staff, and faculty.

We stand with BIPOC students, staff, and faculty and ask NKU to revoke Faith Price’s admission as a clear punishment for claiming that white lives matter more than anyone else’s. NKU should have zero tolerance for any racist views or actions. This negates every statement of inclusivity and diversity previously posted by NKU.

We also call for NKU to officially agree with the statement that Black Lives Matter. This is not a political issue, simply a statement that they are committed to protecting and supporting all Black members of the NKU community.

NKU, we know you can do better.
