It has been brought to attention repeatedly by many students that it is simply not fair and not okay that there is not some sort of priority for upperclassmen for registration and housing assignments.

Yes, a great deal of the students who live on campus are first year students, but for the upperclassmen who choose to live on campus past freshman year should be recognized as seniority, as they are for class registration. Not only are they loyal to East and Boothe village, but for many students, this is their only access to housing, food, and/or transportation. As older and more experienced Norse, they should absolutely be given the privilege of picking their assignments first. 
There are so many other instances on campus where class seniority has priority, why housing registration seems to be the only exception makes the least sense. There are so few upperclassmen that even choose to live on campus, so the idea that assignments would fill up too quickly is false, and freshman could still have their choice of multiple living options. 
When the upperclassmen who choose to live on campus past their freshman year realize that they do not have priority for choosing their housing assignments, it truthfully feels like just another reason to not come back and live here anymore when it feels like a race against time with first year students. We, as upperclassmen living on campus, have been here through it all, we came back during the pandemic, we have followed the rules, and we have done our time in the more commune style arrangements. We deserve to be given ease of passage to choose our next and possibly last housing assignment in college.
