It’s important to have more eyes on what goes on in the house. My girl has been in a group home for almost 3 months and has epilepsy. A camera is a medical necessity. I used to check every morning, now, not so much because the aides in the house are terrific. She is well cared for, and her room is pristine. They require her to make her bed and do her laundry because they know she can. She’s happy, she knows this is another step toward independence. Cameras are just another tool to make sure everyone is on the same page: the health, safety and well being of the residents. Billy Cray's Law does not require parental access for common area cameras. That’s ok with me. I hope agencies understand that this is a very useful tool. They can see what works, what doesn’t and provide support when needed.
