Every time we cross Delhi border in a taxi (Ola/Uber/Meru/Easycabs) or any public transport, we pay 100 rupees as MCD Toll Tax. 

This tax is a hindrance in people using more and more public transport. For somebody who loves Uber/Ola for the convenience and freedom they offer (taxi on demand, no bothering about parking space) this is a big pain and hampers the overall commuting cost. Most of the office going crowd lives in towns like Noida/Indirapuram/Gurgaon/Faridabad and the overall commute to Delhi is somewhere in between 300-400 rupees (including the MCD toll tax). If you undertake this journey twice in a day this figure becomes Rs. 200. A figure in which people would anyways prefer to take their own vehicles.

Moreover, there are touts/collection agents on each border who charge 50 rupees and let the cars pass without the government actually collecting some tax. At all the borders these touts/collection agents jump in the middle of the road to collect these taxes and also cause accidents. Be it the UP border on NH24, the toll collection point on DND/Sarita Vihar or the one at Gurgaon, these collection agents ensure that there are massive jams for them to do their collection without any hassle.
