Compulsory road markings on all National & State Highways for Accident & Stress free roads

Driving a vehicle on road, that to on National or state highway is a skillful job. Driver's & his co-passenger's life is dependent on an accident free travel. There are various causes leading to a fateful accident. Human error is the most common cause amongst accidents.
In human error also there is one error which is 'induced human error'. Means a driver may be following all traffic rules, is disciplined but the road he is driving is very badly maintained, potholes laden road. Sadly this issue of bad roads is eternal but today I will be focusing on a less talked about but extremely important issue of 'Road Markings'.
Only a true driver knows the importance of road markings especially at nights. They are real life savers at night. And on a rainy night, they can be your only hope of staying alive on road.
Sadly no importance is given to this aspect. Though mandatory as per IRC 35 - 1997 code of practice for road markings,
Contractors don't execute it, Burocrats don't enforce it & Politicians don't ensure it! Because it is a unimportant issue to them. No citizen/media questions them about it as much as they question about potholes or accidents.
But this is a very serious issue, sadly totally neglected! Road markings are essential for safe & disciplined driving. I urge our dynamic and sensitive Hon'ble Central Cabinet Minister for Surface Transport & Highways Mr. Nitin Gadkari ji to ensure that these markings are made on all National & State highways and are done without any exceptions or excuse. Not just one type of marking but all the types mentioned in the IRC.
These simple, reflective markings will reduce the enormous night driving stress of millions of drivers on road every day & night. This will reduce 'low visibility induced' accidents at night & will save hundreds of lives every year.
I urge the Hon'ble Prime Minister also to give importance to this issue, vital to the safety on roads.
I also appeal to the Hon'ble Minister of Transport Mr. Diwakar Raote to implement it on all state highways in Maharashtra.
I appeal to all Media people, Celebrities, Politicians, my friends & relatives to sign this PETITION in thousands & support it...and spread it like wild fire!
Thank you for your patronage.
