The Issue

CLARIFICATION: Not just for 2023 LEAF owners. 2023 is used as an example between LEAF and Arya plugs
The 2023 Nissan Leaf is a fantastic EV, but owners are now facing major challenges.

While the 2023 Nissan Ariya and other newer EVs transitioned to CCS fast-charging, the 2023 Leaf was still built with the CHAdeMO standard — a system that charging networks across the country are rapidly phasing out.

We, the undersigned, respectfully request that Nissan North America provide free or heavily discounted CCS-to-CHAdeMO adapters to owners of 2023 and newer Nissan Leaf vehicles.

Leaf drivers — many of whom rely on their vehicles for work, commuting, and everyday life — are now seeing their access to fast charging shrink, limiting our ability to use the cars we paid over $30,000 for.

Without proper charging support, Leaf owners face serious challenges:

  • Shrinking fast-charging infrastructure.
  • Increased difficulty using their vehicles for daily commuting and professional driving.
  • Reduced long-term value and usability of their vehicles.

We are asking Nissan to stand by its loyal EV customers by offering a certified CCS-to-CHAdeMO adapter, and providing the adapter free of charge or at a significant discount for affected 2023+ Leaf owners.

This will allow us to continue using our vehicles fully until we are ready to upgrade naturally — instead of being unfairly stranded.

We’re not asking for special treatment — just fair access to charging infrastructure we need to keep moving.

Please support this petition and let Nissan know that Leaf drivers deserve a fair transition.
