Jill Stein had to make a decision within about 48 hours, and a majority of the Green Party, long-standing and new members alike, think Jill made the right move and is moving forward with that decision quite well. On behalf of Greens in the United States and those Greens abroad who are impacted by our elections here at home, we all want to say:

Our petition is as follows:

WHEREAS assuring Election Integrity is essential to our Key Values of Grassroots Democracy, Social Justice and Equal Opportunity

WHEREAS numerous irregularities have arisen throughout the 2016 Election cycle, including the reported disappearance of Green Party votes from precinct totals in the Presidential race

WHEREAS the only persons eligible to request a recount in said race are the candidates themselves

WHEREAS the recount efforts are not seeking to elevate either major party

WHEREAS the recount efforts are intending to extend to any and all states with irregularities

WHEREAS the recount efforts are bringing an unprecedented level of national attention to the Green Party, its leadership, and agenda

We, the undersigned members of the Green Party of the United States strongly support the current recount effort being spearheaded by Dr. Jill Stein.
