As Nintendo has created a Gamecube controller adapter for Wii U it is possible for them to add it in. Play the remake with the original controls, have looks but play with the old controller. Nintendo made a Gamecube Controller Adapter for Wii U and since this originally released on Gamecube it seems like a perfect fit for the adapter!
