I am a dedicated fan of Pokemon and it has played a significant role in countless childhoods across the globe, including mine. The influence of these games is far reaching; the franchise has offered us more than 800 unique Pokemon with more than 300 million games sold worldwide as of 2020 [1]. However, many gamers, like myself, yearn for the opportunity to revisit the earlier generations of Pokemon—in particular, the Red and Blue Versions—in the thrilling format of open-world gaming. 

An open-world remake would invite older and newer fans alike to experience the joy and nostalgia of the primary Pokemon entries, while embracing the expansive non-linear format that has defined some of the greatest games of our generation. Those who experienced the original Pokemon Red and Blue Versions will once again witness the wonder of a vibrant, open-world Poke-universe filled with familiar sights and novel experiences.

This petition calls on Nintendo to consider the development of an open-world remake of Pokemon Red and Blue Versions.
