Nintendo's video-game character Birdo is famously a transgender woman, but from player manuals to in-game dialogue, she consistently requests to be called 'Birdetta'. In all games she appears in, she is always called 'Birdo', and in many cases (some of which are from game releases within the past two years) is even referred to with male pronouns (he/him instead of she/her). 

This petition will be sent to Nintendo in request that they begin renaming her to Birdetta (in all languages where she is currently known as Birdo) and always use female pronouns. In this age of trans rights, there is no reason that they can dead-name and misgender the most famous transgender character in video-gaming.

It may be a small and seemingly meaningless request, but to remedy this would be to no longer push transphobia in the faces of Nintendo players, telling them that it is optional for others to use their preferred pronouns and OK to ignore new names. Since this action would be easy and near-costless to make - simply swapping Birdo for Birdetta and he for she - I see no reason why they would want or need to continue using the dead name and wrong pronouns.
