After seeing how great the new generation 8 games are looking and getting excited to see Pokemon new and old with such detail along with the great new mechanics at E3 this week, the one thing that does disappoint is the announcement that we would not be able to transfer all of our Pokemon to the new generation 8 games from our current games, whether it be a generation a 6 or 7 game. Only being able to transfer those that will be in the Galar Pokedex.

The main thing I want to make clear. This Petition is by no means one out of anger towards game freak for their decision to do this, as they have given us so much over the years and that it is why this franchise means so much to us, and we can never thank them enough for the games that they have given us. It is one out of love for the franchise.

But with many of us growing up with the phrase of "Gotta Catch them all", this decision means that it will not be possible within generation 8. With no confirmation as to how many Pokemon will be missing out of the Galar Pokedex, it is a worry amongst myself, friends,and mostly importantly a lot of other players on the internet as to how many Pokemon will be missing out of this new Pokedex and therefore nontransferable to the new games. 

As it means the hard work people have put into filling their Pokedex's, whether it be players who have transferred from the older generations to generation 6 and forward, to the players who are new to the series with generation 7, is some what wasted as they cannot transfer all Pokemon to the new games.

Another thing that is a bit worrying, is the possibility of players transferring Pokemon they would like to transfer over to the new games via Pokemon Home from their current games via Pokemon Bank, and then finding out that certain Pokemon cannot be transferred. As once you Transfer to Pokemon Home it has been said that it cannot be transferred back to Pokemon bank, meaning that there may be a possibility for players having Pokemon stuck in Pokemon home without any way to transfer back to their current games. 

So this is a petition to ask Nintendo and Game freak, to at some point in the future, if possible, allow players to be able to transfer the Pokemon that will not be in the Galar Pokedex to their copies of Sword and Shield. For example, an update that adds a piece to the post game that unlocks the ability to transfer Pokemon over that are not part of the Galar Pokedex, this may be unlocked via an npc who may also give you the national Pokedex. This suggestion would help keep the game balanced as it would take place after the player has done most things, including the elite 4. 

But despite this, the gameplay we saw at E3 this week looks amazing, and it will be great in November to actually be able to travel around the new region and take in the new sights, characters, mechanics, and importantly new Pokemon.
