The Issue

In 2009, a game was released for the Nintendo DS entitled “Fossil Fighters”. In the game, you played as a fossil fighter, someone who would search for dinosaur fossils and revive them into creatures called Vivosaurs. You would take your Vivosaurs and fight other Fossil Fighters to become a master fighter. The game was followed by a sequel in 2010, titled “Fossil Fighters: Champions”, which continued the series. The first two entries were blessed with decent sales and positive reviews, and developed a small, yet dedicated, fan base. The third and final entry for the series was released in 2014 for the Nintendo 3DS. “Fossil Fighters: Frontier” was made by a different developer than the first two games, and met mediocre reviews and sales. Ever since then, Nintendo has not touched this series. Last year, however, they revealed that a game entitled “Fossil Hunters” would be coming to the newest Nintendo console, the Nintendo Switch. In response, people became excited that a new Fossil Fighters game was on the horizon, only to be disappointed in the fact that Fossil Hunters has nothing to do with the franchise. Nintendo, we, the fossil fighters fan base, tell you that we are certainly here. Nintendo recently filed for a trademark on “Fossil Fighters” anyway. We want a new game in this wonderful and creative series.
