Petition updateLet a Stage from Yoshi's Crafted World be among Ultimate's DLC StagesLetter for Masahiro Sakurai on Feedback to Ultimate and about the Future of Smash Bros.

Will have this message posted within the next fortnight from now, of which I certainly do wish luck with getting to Sakurai eventually. I typed up 2 versions of what I had to say in the letter, what I'm showing here is the version that's in English:

"

Hello Masahiro Sakurai

It is I, a Nintendo fan from Australia who one of these days wishes to be a Game Critic. I thought I’d give you my personal feedback on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and talk about the future of Smash Bros. for Nintendo’s next System. Smash Bros. is one of those franchises aimed to have a new game on each and every Nintendo System much like with Mario (in terms of Mainstream Mario both 2D and 3D, Mario Kart, Mario Party and a Mario RPG), The Legend of Zelda, Kirby and Pokémon. This is something that should always remain the case, even when it comes to a point in your career and the legacy of the Smash Bros. Franchise where you’d resign from it and pass the legacy onto someone else (what I have to say to you in this letter is also something that should be seen by whoever succeeds your Legacy of the Smash Bros. franchise once your time with it is up): https://images-wixmp-ed30a86b8c4ca887773594c2.wixmp.com/intermediary/f/1e4b0f27-012d-4ebd-83d0-0d41cadd6581/dcudwlo-ba14cd7b-2348-4b50-b256-d3c4cd4b1ccb.png

I’d been worried to death about the future of Smash Bros. after the release of Smash 4. Smash Bros. is the only time that Nintendo Characters can all come together, something we’ve been able to see on each and every Nintendo System. Not to mention Smash Bros. games have been one of the quite most anticipated games for each system. Even if Smash 4 had itself an enhanced Switch Port as once guessed of, Ultimate still would’ve been able to exist. Luckily I myself don’t take you seriously when you say each game has been developed with a mindset of there being no more afterwards. It certainly made our day last year when it was announced a Smash Bros. game was coming to the Switch, continuing the trend of there being a new game in the series for each and every Nintendo System, what I didn’t see coming was the game releasing only 4 years after the previous. Even if a Switch Port of Smash 4 were to’ve come around, Ultimate I’m sure would’ve still existed. I heard that Ultimate started work on even before the last batch of DLC for Smash 4 came around, but unlike previous Smash Bros. games, Ultimate never actually was announced to be one of the Switch games to offer when the Switch was first unveiled to the public. It seems the announcements of new home consoles with more storage space and more possibilities and more stuff to make use of always prompt you to do more Smash Bros. games, though it’s always a pleasure for the legacy to be eventually passed onto someone else to continue it when the time seems best for you.

Now I’d like to speak on feedback of Ultimate. Amazing job as usual, it’s something we’d never think you’d be able to pull off by not having any fighters from previous games in the franchise dropped. Great enhancements to things too might I add, such as with the added slow mo effects to some effects, the stage morphing aspect, the addition of battlefield forms as well as Omega forms, a vocal Main Theme, a great way to listen to music, Interesting classic modes with unique playsets for Each Fighter, a tourney mode in some form that allows you to select up to 3 or 5 fighters to participate each time, among other things we’d never think you’d pull off. Not to mention including a wide variety of familiar stages that are not just those featured from the previous game in the franchise, including those from the Original Smash Bros.. But there’s only 4 new stages, the only franchise that had both new and familiar stages was Mario and Zelda, how exactly were they the ones chosen anyway? Some games released between Smash 4 and Ultimate would’ve made great additions to new stages, like a Metroid Prime: Federation Force Stage, a Yoshi’s Crafted World Stage, a Stage based around Gourmet Race from Kirby Super Star, a Star Fox Zero Stage, and even a Stage based on Pokemon Sun & Moon where we could’ve been able to see Gen VII Pokemon in the background. For the stages not returning in Ultimate, how exactly were these ones chosen to not return?:
*Planet Zebes
*Sector Z
*Icicle Mountain
*Mute City: Odd choice, as since the Smash 4 stage of the same name was retitled Mute City SNES, it made things seem like there’d be another Mute City in the game.
*Melee’s Mushroom Kingdom: Probably was best not having it co-exist with Mushroom Kingdom from the Original Smash Bros. I’ll take it.
*Flat Zone: Probably was best not having it co-exist with Flat Zone X.
*PokeFloats: They were only of Pokémon from the first 2 Gens anyway.
*Rumble Falls
*PictoChat: Probably was best not having it co-exist with PictoChat 2.
*Flat Zone 2: Probably was best not having it co-exist with Flat Zone X.
*Rainbow Road
*PAC-Maze: PAC-Man’s iconic feature of his franchise was that maze, now PAC-Man’s the only TPC without a Stage from his game of origin.
*Jungle Hijinx: That was the first stage in Smash Bros. history where fighters could travel between the background and foreground.
*Pyrosphere: Probably that stage didn’t return due to Ridley becoming playable, and it would’ve made no sense for someone to be both playable and a stage hazard.
*Woolly World: A Stage from Yoshi’s most recent adventure where he had his major comeback on Home Consoles, that you just had to feature in Smash 4 even before Yoshi’s Woolly World was released.
*Orbital Gate Assault: Because that stage hadn’t returned there’s now no place to be listening out for the voice cast of Star Fox Zero, of which the playable Star Fox characters are based upon.
*Miiverse: It not being included was self explanatory, but we hope one of these days that the Switch eventually will have itself a Miiverse Counterpart one of these years.
Hope someday you can give a real explanation for these disinclusions. I mean there’s clearly 6 blank stages on the stage select screen, leaving room for 5-6 more stages, what kind of Smash Bros. game would leave blank spaces on it’s full stage select screen anyway? Although some may say Icicle Mountain and Rumble Falls didn’t return due to them being scrolling stages, there’s actually 4 stages like that already, being Rainbow Ride, Mushroomy Kingdom, 3D Land, and PAC-Land. And although some may say some stages not returning were due to them being similar to another, there actually already similar stages co-existing in Ultimate:
*Peach’s Castle and Princess Peach’s Castle
*Kongo Jungle and Kongo Falls or Jungle Japes
*Super Happy Tree and Yoshi’s Story
*Dream Land and Green Greens
*Pokemon Stadium and Pokemon Stadium 2 (there’s now 3 morphing Pokemon Stages)
Now onto more feedback about Ultimate. I like how specific fighters were given nice additions and improvements, such as with Samus now able to use her Charge Shot off the ground, Pikachu gaining a female version of itself, Luigi’s new running animation plus his new Poltergust that grabs opponents, Ness and Lucas having their teammates from their respective games get included in a way (done through their PK Starstorms), what you did with Zelda’s personality, Marth and Roy now finally speaking English, Ganondorf now making use of his trademark sword, the makeover you gave to Mr. Game & Watch where his sprite now goes onto much the game each move is based off, Ike now having 2 different outfits to choose between, ROB now having a gauge metre whilst he flies, a way to keep track of Villager and Isobel’s pocketed items/attacks, the engsncements to Wii Fit Trainer’s face, the Mii Fighters gaining voices and now being used in Online Battles, the new way of changing between Shulk’s active Monado, among others. Good job as usual with the newcomers as usual, despite you dismissing Ridley’s chances of ever becoming a fighter, here he is now playable in Ultimate, King K Rool was indeed lucky to get his chance as a fighter despite having made no appearances for over a decade, and you continued the trend of making sure a Pokemon from the latest gen at the time was included with Incineroar. In terms of you having now abandoned player controlled Final Smashes, I actually think it may stay that way forever. Good job though on how many Final Smashes were changed in Ultimate compared to Smash 4, some I’m surprised you did not even come up with in the past like with what DK and Yoshi now have. And as for Spirits, I wouldn’t mind if they replaced trophies forever, as long as we have something to give a good overview on and to read about (hope Final Smashes will get themselves a Successor with making greatly powerful attacks as well if a time like that were to come). For taunts and victory themes, it’s a pity they had to be shortened, even as much as to making some taunts feel more like idle animations, but it was a real shame for Mario to lose what he’d been doing since the Original Smash Bros. with one of the taunts. I’m sure though that you already have good reasons for that, along with why some modes like Multi-Man mode, Homerun Contest, Stage Builder, Custom Moves, and Open Levels similar to Melee’s Adventure Mode, Brawl’s Subspace Emissary Story Mode and Smash 4’s Smash Run where he could tackle in familiar enemies from across games. Atleast there was still an All-Star Mode featured in some fashion, something good to have that shows off the history of each fighter’s Origin Order. One last thing, good job as well for how you gave better names to specific music tracks, especially in ways to give an explanation for what they’re a remix of, same said for featuring Melee tracks that haven’t even been heard of since Melee like Fourside along with the Saria’s Theme.

I know people keep believing you should take a break sometime based on what you’re put through when developing games, but that’s actually part of a Game Developers job, you’re not alone with being someone that works long hours and that goes through quite the pressure. Once you’re ready to step down in the Smash Bros. franchise, it would be appreciated if you found a successor to continue the legacy of there being a new Smash Bros. game on each and every Nintendo System. One of the noteworthy times this would need to happen is when you retire from being a game developer, or once you’ve passed away. I mean I don’t believe in anything that’s without a future without the person who started it all, Star Wars has done well even without George Lucas, the long awaited Sequel Trilogy even came to be without him, so how the Nintendo Characters all coming together in the future should hopefully still turn out well even without you. We can only hope though that the franchise won’t not be the same without you, one thing that may be different for certain is there being fewer aspects from games that you yourself worked on outside Smash, and that we may finally get to see more stuff from Kirby games in more recent times that were without your involvement, such as with the chosen Kirby stage. When it comes to finding the right successor though, please do make sure it’s this type:
*Someone who has a massive development air force, that would be the right type for a project like Smash Bros..
*Someone that would happily keep up the trend of there being a New Smash Bros. game for each and every Nintendo System.
*Someone who’d be able to keep up the trend of the franchise with how things are handled.
*Someone who’d understand how things work in each game of the franchise.
*Someone who has what it takes to make a game of 70+ Playable Characters, with an understanding of how the roster gets bigger and bigger each game.
When it comes to later Smash Bros. games, stuff that weren’t accomplishable in previous games have gotten brought up, and stuff have been fixed up. For instance stuff about characters can be fixed up, which was the case with Luigi (you stopped him from sounding like Mario since Brawl), Fox (he managed to speak English in the West since Brawl), Yoshi (you kept the Eggs their own colour per Palette Swap since Smash 4), and Jigglypuff (Regular Jigglypuff as opposed to Shiny Jigglypuff has been used since Smash 4). In regards to Ultimate with what’d been fixed up about specific fighters, I can’t note for certain on that right now, but are there stuff still not fixed up such as with how Bowser sounds, which is not his current voice actor, the aim of the game with consistent voice actors is that they sound the same in all media. Let's not forget that familiar characters of existing frachises that you finally allowed to their chances in games beyond Melee, such as with Diddy Kong and King Dedede in Brawl, and Palutena and Bowser Jr. in Smash 4, and Ridley in Ultimate, not to mention finally giving Kid Icarus, Wario, Animal Crossing a playable rep in the franchise since Brawl and Smash 4 respectively, not to mention how you’ve been able to bring in characters who haven’t had a new game for several years. Things even keep improving and improving in each installment, such with fulfilling stuff that weren’t able to be fulfilled in previous installments like Final Smashes and 8 Player Smash, possibilities are endless. One thing not accomplished before that certainly would be worth accomplishing in the future is battles that take place underwater, along with a new unique capability achievable only by certain characters (similar to multi-jumping, wall jumping and crawling). Smash Bros. is basically the only time we can listen to music from Various Nintendo Games, it’s the only time we can see Earthbound, Fire Emblem and Xenoblade Characters outside their respective game’s of origin, it’s the only time we’re able to see dialogue come out of certain characters, and it’s the only time DK and Diddy can make more realistic primate grunts. There’s certainly lots of games out there that could use reference in the Smash Bros. Franchise, and there's a lot of Nintendo Characters out there that certainly could use their chances as Fighters someday. Each game continues to amaze us, there could even be non-main Smash Bros. games for Mobile Devices and Arcades in the future with smaller content amounts, which won’t matter as they’re not part of the main series. For games releasing on the Switch after Ultimate, stuff from them should definitely be featured in a Smash Bros. game one of these years:
*Karts from the 9th Official Mario Kart game for the Switch would make great spirits, and track music from the 9th Official Mario Kart game for the Switch would make great music pieces.
*Some Pokemon from Gen VIII on the Switch would make great Pokeball Pokemon.
*Power Ups from the next 2D Mario Game would make great spirits.
*Once the Kremlings finally have a comeback, they just have to be referenced in some way at a time like this.
*Stuff we see about fighters in later games would be great to update into them for later games in the franchise as usual.
*It would be great to use aspects from Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Metroid Prime 4, The Upcoming Animal Crossing Game, Yoshi’s Crafted World, Bayonetta 3, Pikmin 4, New Donkey Kong game, a WarioWare or Wario Land Game with Waluigi in it, a New Golden Sun game, and even once there’s finally a new F Zero game come a time like this. Aspects from Bayonetta 3 all would depend if Bayonetta had a comeback in future installments.
Each Super Smash Bros. game has left you a specific challenge that luckily you’ve not had to do again with future installments to save the pressure you’re being put through. With Melee to get it done in less then a year in time for the Gamecube’s launch, Brawl with it’s major story mode, Smash 4 with developing 2 different versions of the game, and Ultimate with ensuring all fighters from the history of Smash Bros. get featured. You should also keep in mind the fact that Smash Bros. over the years has helped specific franchises, like with allowing Fire Emblem games to release outside of Japan, and Kid Icarus having a Major Comeback, some fighters are even better known of by how they’re portrayed in Smash Bros. like with Captain Falcon’s Falcon Punch and with stuff about the Pokémon being based off the Anime getting used in a game. You never know how well Smash Bros. helping these playable franchises featured in each of them could continue in future installments. Good luck to whoever your successor is, and long live Smash Bros., something that’s been lucky to have a new game on each and every Nintendo System and the only time Nintendo Characters can all come together. Makiko Ohmoto I’m sure even enjoys recording new dialogue for Kirby, and loves how a time for that has always come with there being a New Smash Bros. game for each and every Nintendo System.

We are indeed OK with the fact that each new Smash Bros. game, some of the fighters have to be dropped from the roster. Fighters who have been dropped before are Ice Climbers, Dr. Mario, Pichu, Young Link, Mewtwo, Roy, Snake, Squirtle, Ivysaur, Lucas, and Wolf. There may’ve been reasonable explanations behind it with them not having been up to much in recent times since the previous game, them not being that major in their franchises/in gaming history, system limitations, and due to them being cloned fighters. We should be lucky that you haven’t and hopefully never will drop any fighters that are gaming icons, and play important roles in their franchises/in gaming history. These are the playable fighters who made their introduction as Smash Bros. fighters outside the original that should never dropped from the Smash Bros. Roster ever: https://images-wixmp-ed30a86b8c4ca887773594c2.wixmp.com/intermediary/f/1e4b0f27-012d-4ebd-83d0-0d41cadd6581/dctkpdp-f95ea9bf-edb8-4ac4-a398-40ea739c688b.png/v1/fill/w_1024,h_422,q_80,strp/fighters_that_should_never_be_dropped_ever_by_curioususerx90_dctkpdp-fullview.jpg
*Peach, Bowser, Zelda, Ganondorf: They play pretty key roles in each game to the protagonist (love interest/damsel in distress and archenemy respectively).
*Falco: He’s one of Fox’s teammates that plays a very important role in his franchise, I can see why he was the only Cloned Fighter of Melee not dropped in Brawl.
*Marth: Although there’s a different protagonist in each Fire Emblem game, Marth himself plays a key part to Fire Emblem for being from the first game. Of all Fire Emblem Fighters, he’s the key character of the series.
*Mr. Game & Watch: A fairly unique fighter and someone whose been around longer then Mario. Each Smash Bros. game should represent the Game & Watch in some way.
*Meta Knight: Been a fan favourite in the Kirby Franchise.
*Pit: One of Nintendo’s key characters.
*Zero Suit Samus: It’s great to see Samus in action both with and without her power suit, a fine addition that Brawl was nice enough to bring up.
*Wario: Has been a key part in Gaming/Nintendo/Mario history, no way should he ever be dropped from a Smash Bros. game.
*Diddy Kong: He’s Donkey Kong’s partner and has had a major role alongside DK in each game.
*Sonic: This is one high point to bring up. Sonic is one of the most popular video game characters of all time, a gaming icon too might I add. He’s one fast fighter in the franchise that’s good to be paired with Mario, he never should be dropped from the Smash Bros. Roster ever, as long as he keeps up his fame.
*King Dedede: A rather popular character of the Kirby franchise and Kirby’s arch nemesis, having had key roles in a good amount of Kirby games.
*Olimar: One of Nintendo’s key characters.
*Villager: One of Nintendo’s key characters.
*Mega Man: Don’t know what I can say about him, but I guess it’ll all depend if he’s that much of a Gaming Icon like Sonic is.
*Rosalina: In recent times with how she’s becoming a big part of the Mario franchise, I don’t really see her being dropped while she has such a part in the franchise.
*Little Mac: If there can be more Punch Out games, then what more can I say about him.
*Mii Fighters: As long as Nintendo Systems keep on using Miis, I don’t see these fighters ever being dropped.
*Palutena: Has been a key part of the Kid Icarus Franchise, no way should she ever be abandoned from the Smash Bros. Franchise.
*Pac-Man: He is a Pretty Neat Gaming Icon, but hopefully Namco will allow him in games without their involvement.
*Shulk: Similar thing I have to say about Marth.
*Bowser Jr.: He’s Bowser’s son and has started playing a key role throughout the Mario franchise. No way should he ever be dropped from a Smash Bros. roster.
*Ryu and Ken: Mega Man’s inclusion could boost their chances, but Ryu should never fight without Ken again.
*Inkling: Has started becoming one of Nintendo’s key characters.
*Ridley: Arch nemesis of Samus whose played a big part in the Metroid Franchise. An arch nemesis of someone is one fighter you should never drop.
*King K Rool: Similar explanation to Ridley.
Ultimate’s Echo Fighters may be among these fighters likely to get dropped from the roster in Future Installments, but any that plays a key role in their games/franchise/gaming history should not be dropped from the roster ever and be made into a Semi-Clone like with Falco since Brawl. As for Ken and Richter, I can see them being in any Smash Bros. game that has Ryu and Simon respectively, where they’d also get made into Semi-Clones, might I add that it would indeed be great if one of these years Ken’s Stage from Street Fighter got featured in Smash Bros.. speaking of clones, they’re something we may still be in for with future Smash Bros. games anyway, with them being easier to create fighters by getting based off another. Fully cloned fighters though are something though you’ve tried to do away with, in Smash 4 they came by fate, of which originally started off as Alternate Costumes for who they’re based off. Over the years we’ve been shown that there is no limit whatsoever with how many fighters there can be in each Smash Bros. Roster, along with how many there can be per playable franchise. Good luck I say with whichever highly requested fighters get their chance in the next Smash Bros. game, it’s reasonable that they don’t all get their chance in the same game at once, thank goodness it’s known that highly requested fighters will indeed have likelinesses of joining the battle at some point, no matter when in the franchise it is. It’s also a good thing that this news came up, stating that those we’ve been submitting to the Smash Ballot during 2015 will indeed get their chances as fighters eventually, along with the mentioning of it implying to even beyond Ultimate: https://mynintendonews.com/2018/04/03/super-smash-bros-fighter-ballot-data-to-be-used-for-reference-for-future-smash-games/amp/#clickhttps://t.co/DHPUzWG65l
It seems even that you’ve had no problem whatsoever with including 3rd Party Fighters, something that should never be abandoned from the Smash Bros. Franchise. Ultimate even provided to us that Playable 3rd Party Franchises can indeed be able to have more then one rep, though it’s a mystery as to if full fledged fighters would be allowed as 2nd Reps or only Cloned Fighters in some way (Fully and Semi). It sure would make our day if Pauline, Paper Mario (a form of Mario with a far different moveset from Mario), Dixie Kong, Impa, Sylux, Bandana Dee, Ninten, Virdi, Chibi-Robo, Wonder Red, Captain Toad, Lip, Chorus Kids, Rayman, Shantae, Neptune, Lloyd Irving, Jibanyan and a 4th Mii Fighter got their chances eventually with becoming Smash Bros. Fighters at some point in the franchise, of who are among those that are the highly requested fighters, same said for the Assist Trophies of Waluigi, Isaac, Takamaru and Springman eventually getting promoted to playable fighters, all of whom has had a strong outcry for many years. Let’s not forget that at some point in the franchise, all playable franchise of the Original Smash Bros. (Yoshi and F Zero included) all had more then one playable rep at some point in the franchise, and that a Star Fox and Pikmin Fighter who doesn’t wield a blaster nor manoever vehicles and that makes use of Pikmin respectively eventually comes around, same I say for how great it would be if Fully Evolved Pokemon Starters of all 3 types as playable fighters were to be a thing at some point in the franchise’s legacy as well (hopefully the fully evolved Grass Starter of Gen VIII or IX will be the one). Let’s not forget someone from the upcoming Switch Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing games getting their chance as a Smash Bros. fighter at some point, along with someone in a Future game dedicated to Miis and another Xenoblade Character. Thank goodness I have an understanding that not all highly requested fighters can join the battle all at once in the same game, and that when one doesn’t make it into one game, there’s always a next time to wish them better luck for. Come a Future Generation of Gaming where there’s a system that can support over 100 playable characters in any game, that’s definitely something worth making use of in the future, especially when your successor gets to the point of the 100th character to join the Smash Bros. battle.

Hope I said the best I could in this letter, good luck I say with how Ultimate’s lineup turns out, 2 of them would already have been known of by the time you receive this letter (Piranha Plant and Joker). Once you do receive this letter, I hope you do keep in mind all that I have to say, and be sure to pass it onto whoever your successor is with the Smash Bros. franchise once the time comes, who again we praise is a good choice that won’t make the franchise not the same without you. Long live Smash Bros., and good luck I say for however future instalments turn out by whoever succeeds your legacy with the franchise. Take all the time off you need from game development once you’ve completed all of Ultimate’s DLC Fighters, unless you suddenly start up on another new project. During the next 3 or 4 years between now and when Nintendo starts talking about their next system for the next generation of gaming, see if you can search out someone that has what it takes to develop a Smash Bros. game/a game with 70+ Playable Characters that can succeed your legacy with the only time Nintendo Characters can all come together, so that that by the time Nintendo is ready to unveil they’re next system to the public, you’ll have decided if you’d like to keep making Smash Bros. games or if it’ll be time to find a successor to take over the legacy of Smash Bros. with there being a new game of it for each and every Nintendo System.

PS, I hope you don’t mind being able to answer these that haven’t been answered before even to this point:
*Why was Kongo Jungle 64 was featured in the Wii U Version of Smash 4, without there counterpart for the 3DS Version (as in another stage from the Original Smash Bros.)?
*What’s the real reason as to why Final Smashes have changed in each game? Some would've been to reflect the characters in newer games since the previous game, such as with Mega Evolvers. In Brawl there’s been criticized Final Smashes that barely represent the fighters, some of which had them changed since Smash 4 like with Luigi’s Negative Zone and King Dedede’s Waddle Dee Army, some remained like Mario’s Mario Finale and Jigglypuff’s Puff Up. It would be appreciated sometime if we learnt the real reason as to why some of the final smashes were changed in Smash 4 and Ultimate sometime since the previous games.
*Why do Link and Zelda in Smash 4 still use their Twilight Princess designs instead of their more recent at the time Skyward Sword designs, in addition to their VAs? Luckily they’re sticking to their more recent designs in Ultimate. You never actually cleared that up sometime in the past 4 years.
*Why does Villager still uses the City Folk design in Ultimate rather than heading for the New Leaf design?
*Why are Dr. Mario, Pichu and Young Link not be Echo Fighters in Ultimate of Mario, Pikachu and Toon Link respectively? Aside from lacking the symbol, it's never actually been explained why they wouldnt be considered as such by the developers themselves, despite them being fully cloned fighters. In fact they'd be fighters more likely to be cut from the roster in future installments.
*Why are Shiek and Zero Suit Samus in Ultimate still separate fighters from Zelda and Zero Suit Samus in Ultimate like in Smash 4, unlike Charizard whose back to the stats of being part of the Pokemon Trainer? Personally ZS Samus makes more sense then Shiek, who we knew for years as Zelda’s alter ego then not the same person, it’s surprising you didn’t make the same decision for her in Smash 4 that went for Squirtle and Ivysaur.
*Why does Bowser Jr. as a Smash Bros. Fighter fight in his Junior Clown Car? That’s never actually been explained of before in the past 4 years.
*I’m sure it is always was the aim to feature all fighters from the Original Smash Bros. in every installment, fighters it almost looks like is always a priority to never cut regardless. Is this all true though, as I hear Lucas was considered to replace Ness in Melee prior to Mother 3 on the N64 being cancelled, and Jigglypuff was close to not making into Brawl’s final roster as explained for it not being in the Main Story of the Subspace Emissary.
*Why does Chrom despite now becoming a Playable Fighter in Ultimate still appear during Robin’s Final Smash and in one of Robin’s Victory Poses?
*How come there were able to be new Palutena’s Guidances for fighters not in Smash 4, but no new Codec Calls for fighters that werent in Brawl? Regardless of what’s updated about particular fighters since Brawl, all the Codecs are unchanged even, which includes the word “Brawl” being used in Codecs for Sonic and Jigglypuff, along with the same message even applying to Female Pokemon Trainer (an alternate skin of the Male Version) and Alph (an alternate skin of Olimar’s).
*How is it decided who becomes available from the start and who becomes unlockable in each Smash Bros. game? And why was it was chosen to be the Original 8 (the default characters of the Original Smash Bros.) as opposed to all of the Perfect Attendance Crew (all 12 fighters of the Original Smash Bros.) to be the only default characters in Ultimate?"
