I would like to start by saying I have nothing but respect for the proud Native American race.

My hope for this petition is to keep the feather featured in an attack by the character Mr. Game and Watch in Super Smash Bros Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch, which was said to be removed shortly after the games release.

The Game and Watch was a game system sold by Nintendo in 1980 and featured about 60 games, fire attack being a game that references native Americans trying to destroy a cowboys fort.

I believe that the reference towards the original media should be kept in all releases of the game, or at the very least be optional censorship, because it is not only not offensive, it gives the Native American race some representation, I write this with all of the Native Americans in mind that are sad to see this original reference go, the main reason why the original game was seen as racially insensitive is due to it painting a picture of Native Americans as bad and dangerous, however out of context, it is simply a reference to an old game, a game that was released a few decades ago, based on a popular trope from TV and movies, with only a handful offended by this reference, I believe that it isn’t racist because it doesn’t depict Native Americans as savage in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, instead the character uses that form to unleash a powerful and devastating attack to win the match for Mr Game and Watch.
