Koji Igarashi, maker of the Castlevania series, has expressed clear interest to team up with Nintendo to make a new Metroid game, as shown in this interview with glixel:

GLIXEL:
"But, let's say the fans demanded Nintendo team up with you to make a Metroid game, and Nintendo actually approached you to make one, would you do it?"

IGARASHI:
"I would be incredibly honored."

This petition aims to make this project come true for all Metroid fans that felt abandoned by Nintendo after Metroid: Zero Mission, released in 2004.

Some ideas for a new Metroid game:

- Make a 2.5D game like Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze?
- Let it be made by Retro Studios instead of Nintendo? ;)
- Remake an old Metroid game?
- Use pixelart instead of 3D? Or a mix of both? (Above artwork from Robin Wouters)

Once this petition reaches 5,000 votes, it will be sent to both Nintendo and Koji Igarashi. It will then be sent back again repeatedly once the petition reaches these numbers:
