Latest findings have brought to light the following things..

Hospitals in general will allow and encourage carers to attend to disabled patients care needs, they see the benefits.

Some issues that have been highlighted are

1. Sometimes Care receivers still have to pay although no care may be being received.

2. Some carers are not paid if client goes into hospital, interrupting their capacity to earn and leaving them short. This affects retention of established relationships and routines.

3. Care pros need to be covered by insurance to attend hospital premises either by the clients own policy or that of the care provider company depending on who employs them. This needs to be top priority and transparent when any contracts are initiated and amended if necessary to existing ones.

4. Some care provision contracts stipulate they are paid regardless of whether the client is hospitalised even if visits are not carried out meaning they are incentivised to not provide care.

5. It has also been known for patients to lose packages / routines due to care providers cancelling on admittance or after a period of hospitalisation. Patients have come out of hospital and been left with no care provision in place and even worse sometimes having to remain in hospital for longer due to their being no provision.
