Nike and FedEx to resolve the issue of shoe theft during transit to customers

Nike and FedEx to resolve the issue of shoe theft during transit to customers
The Issue
With the recent explosion of coveted sneaker releases through Nike SNKRS app, countless pairs of sought after Nikes never arrive to the customers when shipped via FedEx, especially during hyped releases like the recent OFF WHITE Dunks and Travis Scott Jordan 1 Lows. While Nike refunds the purchase of the shoes there is no consolation for losing a pair that cannot be replaced and a pair that the customer will never have the opportunity to purchase for retail price again. Nike ships these shoes in non-discreet packaging with Nike swooshes on the box and Nike print all over the packaging tape. Fedex employees can easily identify these packages and keep the contents for themselves, sometimes even replacing the shoes in the box with a pair off their feet. There was even a video of a FedEx driver hoarding Nike packages in their truck without delivering them. There is a plethora of ways that FedEx employees manage to keep our shoes and they are getting more clever with every release. There has been countless comments and posts on social media from customers who never received their shoes many of which disappeared during transit but these claims go unanswered by Nike. Winners of SNKRS Draws are rarely lucky enough to have an opportunity to purchase the shoes only to have their happiness robbed when FedEx informs them their package is lost, damaged, or realistically stolen in transit.
Nike, please stop using branding on your packages. Also potentially consider using a different carrier or urge FedEx to investigate these cases more thoroughly to reduce employee theft. Secondly, please offer some kind of consolation to the customers that cannot have their shoes replaced, possibly in the form of a “golden ticket” for a future SNKRS draw that will guarantee a purchase.
In a world full of sneaker bots, SNKRS gives a fair opportunity for average people and sneaker heads alike to purchase hype sneakers on release day via draw and exclusive access to its most loyal customers. However it is not fair when the shoes never arrive and no further action is taken by Nike beyond issuing a refund. On behalf of everyone who never received their SNKRS package at the hands of FedEx, I urge Nike to take matters into its own hands and issue a public statement on the steps it is taking to resolve the ongoing issue of theft with its carrier Fedex and offer consolation to everyone who did not receive their shoes.
Thank you.
Sincerely, Dennis F.
