Next season, the Indiana Pacers’ agreement to wear “hickory” jerseys as their hardwood classics uniform will expire. This petition is to rally Nike and the Pacers organization to re-create the ABA-era “Pacers-Script” uniform, used during the 1970-75 seasons, as the new hardwood classics uniform for the 2020-2021 season. 

The Pacers have a wide-array of classic and timeless uniforms that carry great meaning and history. However, the 1970-75 “Pacers-Script” uniform can be rivaled by none other. While wearing these uniforms the Pacers dominated the ABA, winning 3 championships in a span of 4 years. Many of the club's most legendary players wore these exact uniforms. 

As the Pacers are now surging and setting their sights on winning their first NBA title, it only seems appropriate that we pay homage to the greats who established our organization’s historic past as we seek to build upon their work. 

Additionally, this jersey when compared to other “throwbacks” is timeless. Some throwbacks are limited to their era and frankly look tacky in the modern NBA. However, these jerseys maintain a dignified simplicity that would look stunning on the league’s modern court.
