Legislation mandating members of the Nigerian Police Force to use body cameras

Legislation mandating members of the Nigerian Police Force to use body cameras
The Issue
The body worn camera(BWC) is a portable camera worn or used by the uniform police to capture audio and video recordings of interactions between officers and the public
In the light of recent happenings around police brutality and shared experiences with men of the Nigerian police force on the road culminating into the EndSars protest. It is imperative to have a means to monitor their interactions with citizens real time
Today, there is no legislation mandating police officers to use this device. The first is an enactment of a legislation that supports this. This will ensure that there is ample evidence when issues arise and people held accountable for their actions or inactions.
