If we can get BVN outside Nigeria why not PVC. Give access to Nigerians abroad to get PVC
The issue
Elections in Nigeria have often been conducted without involving Nigerians abroad. Nigerians abroad do not only send money home to support their relatives they are also bear sharesin the distressing effects of poor governance when their relatives are affected by perenial and recurrent non-payment of salary, and poor social and health infrastructures.
Nigerians abroad must have equal rights to participate in the election to determine who rule Nigeria and influence how the human and material resources of the country is managed.
The primary focus of APC and President Buhari government is anti- corruption. Corruption is not just about money misappropriation, it includes any act or inaction that leads to an abuse of power for the undue advantage of the person in authority and his or her family, friends, associates and community as defined by blood, language, religious, political and other affiliation; and therefore put other not so affiliated to considerable disadvantages as a result of the action and, or inaction.
It is unfair and a corrupt process to ignore any groups of Nigerians, including Nigerians in diaspora, in the election process.
I have been disenfranchised by my inability to exercise my inalienable rights to vote because of the inaction of previous government of Nigeria. Having successfully ensured that all Nigerians abroad with a bank account at home get a BVN, this government has the obligation to do same for the PVC to demonstrate it genuine anticorruption posture. The President Buhari executive government, the National Assembly and INEC have to ensure our fundamental rights to vote using PVC is not denied by making prompt and immediate access for me and other Nigerians in diaspora to vote at the 2019 election.
