Personally I loved the show Avatar the Last Airbender ever since I was a little kid and I always looked up to Team Avatar, especially Sokka. The way he captured fans hearts with his comedy and charisma was like no other on the show, he was the one that brought life and fun into Team Avatar and I’m hoping to be able to bring Sokka and boomerang to life. There are many similarities to Sokka and I its uncanny! We are both descendants from tribes, him being from the Southern Water Tribe and I from the Navajo Nation. I know what it’s like to not really see my father much just like Sokka who doesn’t get to see his father, Hakoda, who went to fight the Fire Nation for 2 years. Hakoda was also one of the Southern Water Tribe’s most prominent leaders at the end of the Hundred Year War. I would be able to bring that feeling of not seeing my father much to the series for I do not live with my father and only really see him occasionally. I also think I fit the description of Sokka pretty well, I’m about 5’8-5’9 brown kid with pretty long hair to put in a bun and I’m always up to shave the sides of my head. I’m pretty blind (lol) so I’ve been wearing contacts and glasses most of my life, I once wore Emerald colored contacts for 2 years in 7th and 8th grade. So seeing that Sokka’s eye color is blue id definitely be able to wear blue colored contacts to fit his eye color. I love to eat meat and complain about there not being any food around which I think should be the norm for people, and I do my absolute all to keep my younger sisters safe which Sokka and I also have in common. I also feel as though Sokka and I would feel the same way if we were with a group of friends who had these amazing bending abilities but we didn’t, we’d pick up our boomerang and run to the fight. Now the main problem with me starting this petition is that I’m not a professional actor sadly and I’ve never been in a film before but I’m definitely not camera shy. One thing I do regret while I was in high school was not taking drama class, that would’ve been the closest I’d get to acting and I sort of let that opportunity slip from me but I don’t want this one to. I’m 19 about to be 20 years old and I’m not getting any younger so let’s hope this works. Please help support me land the role of Sokka for the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender Live action series coming to Netflix.
