In case you haven’t heard the dreadful news, Spongebob is getting another movie, “It’s a Wonderful Sponge.” Don’t get excited because it’s not what it seems. This movie is a prequel to the upcoming Kamp Koral Spongebob series, something Stephen Hillenburg never wanted. The plot follows Spongebob meeting his friends at the camp and going on some kind of an adventure. This is straight up disrespectful to fans, Stephen Hillenburg, and Spongebob SquarePants himself.

Why is Kamp Koral such a bad idea?

The whole idea of this movie goes against the whole Spongebob storyline. The characters whole backgrounds have become pointless. Squidward never met Spongebob until he moved into his neighborhood. Sandy and Plankton never met Spongebob until after he got his job at the Krusty Krab. Same goes with Mr. Krabs. Also, if they all meet at a summer camp as kids, Pearl pretty much gets erased and will never be seen again. Which brings me to my next point, the ages. Based off his information on his boating license in the episode “Sleepy Time,” he is about 30 years old.  Mr. Krabs is about 75 years old according to his birthday in 1942. THAT IS 45 YEAR DIFFERENCE. Although only one character’s age being slightly changed doesn’t seem to bad, Plankton is also around that same age due to being childhood friends with Krabs.

Who does this movie effect anyway?

Right now you probably think this only effects the older fans who remembers Spongebob as a childhood show, but it effects SO MUCH more people. Below is a list of all the people at risk of losing a beloved icon.
